Class on October 4

Folks:

There will be a panel on solo practice at 4pm on Oct. 4 and it will include substantial advice on the ethical problems facing new solo practitioners. I've been asked to encourage you to attend. Thus, I have decided to require that you attend this panel [actually it will take place in our classroom] instead of lecturing on that day. As a result, the midterm will only cover the Preface to the Rules, selected terms from Rule 1.0 [those discussed in class] and Rules 1.1-1.5. The week after the midterm we will cover Rules 1.6 and 1.7 in class and the required readings thereto. We will not discuss privilege and work product in that class. Instead, we will have a one hour additional class on Thursday, Dec. 1. Time for that class will be announced subsequently. I won't require you to attend that make-up on Dec. 1, but, in your own interest, I suggest that you do so.
